Privacy policy

Funding Radar is a New Zealand funding discovery platform operated from Southland, Aotearoa New Zealand. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Funding Radar, and "you" means the person using the platform or the organisation they represent.

This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles.

Account information: your email address, authentication identifiers, and the organisation details you choose to provide (organisation name, type, region and funding interests).

Usage information: the funding you save, searches you run, applications and drafts you create, notification preferences, and the funding tools you use.

Billing information: subscription plan, billing status and invoice history. Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider and are never stored on our systems.

Technical information: log data such as IP address, browser type, timestamps and error reports, used to keep the platform secure and reliable.

Messages you send us through the contact form or support channels.

To provide the service: account access, saved funding, personalised matches, dashboards, funding alerts and the funding advisor and application assistant tools.

To communicate with you: verification and password reset emails, funding alerts and deadline reminders you have opted into, billing notices, and service updates.

To operate and improve the platform: aggregate analytics, troubleshooting, security monitoring, abuse prevention and rate limiting.

To meet legal obligations, including tax and financial record keeping.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with funders without your explicit instruction.

Some features generate summaries, guidance and drafting suggestions using automated language models. When you use these features, the text you enter is sent to our processing provider solely to produce your result. Outputs are guidance only and should be reviewed before submission to a funder.

We do not use your private application content to train third-party models.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the platform: cloud hosting and database services, an email delivery provider, a payment provider, and automated language processing. These providers may store data outside New Zealand, including in Australia, the United States and the European Union.

Where information is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable safeguards to those required by the Privacy Act 2020 apply.

Your data is stored in managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is protected by row-level security so your saved funding, drafts, profile and billing records are visible only to you and, where applicable, to members of your organisation account.

Administrative access is limited to authorised personnel, credentials for connected services are encrypted, and access is logged. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

We keep account and organisation information while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 90 days, except where we must retain records for legal, tax or dispute-resolution purposes (typically seven years for financial records).

You may access, correct or request deletion of your personal information at any time, and you may withdraw consent to marketing or alert emails using the unsubscribe link or your notification settings.

Contact us through the contact page to make a request. We will respond within 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act 2020.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

We use strictly necessary cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Funding listings are gathered from publicly available funder websites and include the source link and the date the listing was last verified. Listings are informational and do not contain personal information about you.

We may update this policy as the platform develops. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app before they take effect.
