The Napier Civic Awards recognise the valuable mahi of our city's volunteers, the humble heroes who help keep Napier running. From selfless sports coaches and community kitchen cooks to church bell ringers and countless others, these are the people who quietly make a real difference. So often, they fly under the radar, shying away from praise while giving their time, skills and energy for the good of their community. We're now reviewing this year's nominations and look forward to celebrating the outstanding people who have been put forward.
Who can apply
- There are three categories of Civic Awards, each of which have criteria that must be met, as outlined below in order of starting to highest honour.
- Where someone has been granted one award, they cannot be awarded within the same category twice, but may be eligible for a higher honour should the appropriate evidence be provided with the nomination to support this.
- Present elected members are not eligible.
