Our Vision A Vibrant Invercargill Our Purpose For Our Community Community Support ILT has returned over $225 million back to the community through grants and donations since we as a city voted in this form of social enterprise in 1944. Each year over $8 million is granted to over 300 organisations who then apply this funding to a range of areas to support thriving community groups, a burgeoning arts’ culture, scholarships across tertiary education, trades, arts and sport, and world class facilities. Our publicly elected board stand as representatives of our diverse population and this ensures grants and funding result in widespread community benefit. The concept of community ownership is both our uniqueness and our reason for being. It allows us to keep our community at the heart of all our initiatives as we strive to achieve our vision of A Vibrant Invercargill.
